A Future for Orphans in Gaza

Give an orphan in Gaza education and a better future – together with Asunya.

In the 2026/27 school year, the Asunya foundation is taking on educational sponsorship for more than 500 orphans, giving them access to education and better prospects for the future.

The sponsorship provides comprehensive support throughout the entire school year, including:

• School fees and necessary learning materials
• Equipping classrooms and learning tents with all required materials
• Support for teachers
• Meals for the students

A full monthly sponsorship costs €50 per child and is ideally set up as a standing order for the entire school year. This allows us to ensure continuous funding of education and care. Alternatively, support for the whole school year can be given as a one-time donation of €500.

What is the exact purpose of this project?

We want to enable 500 orphans at four locations in Gaza to continue their education despite the current difficult conditions. To do this, four large education tents are being set up, divided into several classrooms and equipped with tables, chairs, learning materials and the necessary supplies.

The project is aimed at children of all school-age groups. In addition to regular lessons, the children are also supported during the holidays through educational courses and continued provision of meals.

What are the goals, and who is the target group?

The project supports 500 orphans who currently have no regular access to school. We want to help ensure that the children do not permanently lose their education. They should be able to keep learning, develop, and in the long term have the chance to build a future of their own.

What is the money needed for?

The support is used for the comprehensive care of the children, including:

• School and learning materials
• Setting up and equipping the four education tents
• Tables, chairs and other necessary equipment
• Support for teachers
• Two meals a day, one of them a hot meal
• Meals for the children during the holidays as well
• Additional educational courses during the holidays

The sponsorship costs €50 per month and is ideally set up as a standing order for the entire school year. Alternatively, support for the whole school year can be given as a one-time donation of €500.

How are donations handled?

We are in regular contact with the people responsible on site and receive photos and videos from the education centres that give insight into the implementation and the care of the children. We share these impressions transparently via our Instagram page and our WhatsApp community.

Who is involved in this project?

The project is run by Asunya e.V. We accompany and support the implementation of the education project on site and, together with our supporters, want to help children in Gaza continue to have access to education, care and basic supplies despite the current situation.
